Chronic stomach problems in puppy

I have a 7 month old King Charles Spaniel, who has been experiencing some stomach problems since I got him at 3 months. First, he always has slightly loose stools. He doesn't go more frequently than a regular dog would, but it is nearly always loose. Second, he has had some vomiting issues. A couple weeks ago he woke up in the morning and started heaving and vomiting. At times, I notice that he sort of heaves and then seems to swallow something down like he has acid reflux. Last weekend he woke up in teh middle of the night and threw up about a dozen times until about 10am when he seemed totally fine, active, energetic even, and had a good appetite. Last night he woke up making a heaving almost choking noise, which startled me. He didn't throw up, but he seemed a little uncomfortable afterwards because he moved to the armchair in my room and he ALWAYS sleeps in my bed. He's been checked for worms. I feed him very high quality dog food and often mix it with rice. He seems like a healthy, happy, energetic dog, except that I am worried that these problems could be a sign of something serious. I am going to see my vet who wants to put him on some homeopathic stuff to get him straightened out. Should I be worried about somethig more serious??

Not sure if youve already had your vet do this but I would go for a full work up, bloodwork and x-rays and take it from there, sometimes what your describing can be down to food allergies so that might be worth talking to your vet about also.

I havent worked with that many King Charles but my aunt used to breed them years ago, one of her dogs seemed to have a lot of stomach problems, she was constantly in and out of the vets with her, nothing medical was ever found despite the tests she had done, the vet put it down to 'nervous energy' which according to my aunt is not uncommon in King Charles. (Im just going by what I was told though) Her dog lived into old age, she was about 16 or 17 when she passed away.

Which high quality dog food are you feeding him, and why do you mix it with rice?
