Well, we're all moved in in our new house in Missouri...Annie is loving the big back yard that gets a visit from deer every day. I've noticed over the past couple months that Annie's coat is not as glossy as it used to be. The only changes to routine was that we were staying with my parents down in Texas and I'm sure the sun and heat damaged it a bit, but she's an inside dog, so she was only out in it while playing outside(but we were out quite a bit) and she didn't get as many raw eggs as she usually does at home. What do you guys do to improve the coat? I hate that her coat doesn't just gleam any more.

glad to hear Annies has a wonderful new yard, It was probably the change in the area.

this is supposed to be good for coats, this is from Drsfostersmith.com, its also sold in pet stores

    Linatone / Linatone Plus

Linatone - May help control shedding, flaking, and itching while adding luster to dull coats. Contains essential fatty acids and Vitamins A, D3, and E to improve your dog's skin and coat condition.

Linatone Plus - The same active ingredients as Linatone but enriched with zinc and protein for improved skin and coat.

I bet the eggs helped her coat, too. Aren't eggs supposed to be good for that? Or am I crazy??

It's possible that her coat was damaged by the sun, along with it's fall, and time to change coat. When hair gets old, it is less shiney because the cuticle (outer layer) of the hair shaft gets rough and dry. There's not a lot you can do but wait for it to fall out and new coat to grow in.

Hair is dead. Nothing you can feed will improve the quality of coat that's already grown. The best you can do is feed to improve the quality of new coat as it grows in.

Sometimes you can help it look a little better by using a vinegar/water rinse. The acid in the vinegar will smooth the cuticle down a bit and make it shine a little more.

Use one cup of white vinegar to a gallon of warm water. Put it in a spray bottle and mist her with that. Rub dry with a towel, going with the lay of the coat.
