Hi, this might sound crazy, but does anyone else cat do this. My cat is a "lucky cat" calico whatever, and some days her orange is very dark and some days it is almost a ginger color. At first (I have been noticing for over a year now) I thought I just hadn'T seen her in a while, and then I thought maybe it was a food change, but now I can notice changes almost weekly, whereas before it would be every few months. And it is only her orange parts on her face, none of the other colors anywhere else. Maybe I am crazy and my eyes ability to see orange on her face changes?? I have tried getting it in pictures, but lighting is always different and stuff so you can'T tell.
PS what is up with the demand for the subject to have 4 words?

    lols lil....

...is it the lighting in the house? or the time of day?

Lol's. The lighting definitely makes a difference. All my kitties fur have color changes depending on which room and light condition they are in. Milo can go from dark silver to light greyish white in seconds.

I'm not sure DSH cats are anything like meezers (have never noticed a change in coat color in my DSH cats) but siamese colorpoints will darken when the weather is colder, which is why their points tend to be darker on the area's of their body that is colder (ears, tail, feet, etc.). Siamese in warmer climates tend to have lighter coats than our cold-weather meezers.

Not sure if other cats will react like that...but I wonder if it might be a possibility

Mary, that's a good point. All my cats fluff up for the winter except for my Bengal Rene. Their coats do seem darker, especially Monty's.

Good to know Mary! Rhiannon definately gets darker in the winter...I thought I was imagining things at first. I was even going to start a post about this recently because I'd never heard of a cats coat changing color like this before.

all of my white cats..started out w/ caps of colors on their head that faded as they got older....and my first kitty Candy..was all white w/ a grey cap...that started to spred...as she aged..she ended up w/ grey spots all over right before she got sick and passed.

This is really interesting, I really want to do research on it now, like I wonder if it could be related to people's hair color changes ie in the summer, alot of peoples hair gets lighter and we say it is because the sun bleaches it out, could the lack of sun also make it darker in the winter, causing a more exteme hair color? hmm I wonder what to search for on google?
