constantly on the attack. . . .

oliver is been bad!! i dont no what to do with him hes constanly attacking my mums cat, hell just go for her all the time water dont work he jus gets used to it and carrys on!! he nos hes doing wrong thats the thing coz if i catch him jus about to attack he'll back off. my mums cat yelps n coz shes small we worry hes really gona hurt her any suggestions? i know he jus wants to show hes top cat but my mums cat aint got a fighting chance of getting him off as hes so big!! any help i would be greatfull thanks!

 

can you get Feliway spray there?
It is pricey but I had to finally break down and get some and so far I'm having luck w/it in regards to my Dixie Chick. She attacks Zeus much like you say you are having trouble with. Zeus is always sporting scratches on his nose or face somewhere from Dixie.
Then Dixie started peeing in all the wrong places - and she was tearing the arms off my sofa with her marking scratching.
The Feliway is working wonders and I also started giving her Bach's Rescue Remedy to help calm her down. I'm slowly weaning her off it.
So far I'm having luck with a combo of the 2. Both being more than I like to spend (I really am a cheap Yank but will part with some $$ if I have to) but money well spent. Cheaper than replacing flooring from Dixie peeing or having Zeus end up with an abcess from a wound she gives him.
Good luck - oh are they both spayed and/or neutered?

 

is he playfully attacking the cat? Cuz i remember when Mini was younger, Max would attack her and she would hiss and scream..but then go after him and attack him. so i knew they were playing. but sometimes if Max was too rough and wouldnt leave her i would startle him with blowing a whistle. first few times i had to whistle really loud..then after that as soon as he hears it starting he leaves her alone.

 

hey i dont no mary if i can get that stuff in the uk i can try n get it and na it aint playing coz he jus attacks her and she cant get away if she does he just attacks her again i think coz shes so small shes an easy target for oliver!! bad puddy cat!! he does it radomly as well its not a certain thig will make hi go for her hell just decide that he wants to and he does it!

 

another thing i remember doing is that i would get boxes and tape them closed and the cut a small door on the side that only my small cat would fit in. I remember putting her kitten food in the a big box and only she can get to it cuz the door was just her size. and she learned that this is her hiding spot. she would run inside whenever max was too rough. it was only for 3 months and after that she was big enough to defend herself. now she is the one that attacks him all the time even though she is still smaller than him.

 

I did a similar thing, only to keep the dog out of the cat food. The cat loved it, and soon learned to leap out of the door whenever the dog walked by, lol, and then dart back in knowing that the dog couldn't follow. It was the funniest thing to watch.
