My black lab's coat is always coarse no matter how much i brush her, and in the winter she reeks! will a raw egg everyday help her with her coat? she has a pretty sensitive stomach.

I don't know if you can do anything about your dog's coat being coarse.

I also don't know about a raw egg and what it would do.

What I can offer however ...lol... is that you could try salmon/fish oil supplements. These help alot with a dog's coat. I use Grizzly Salmon Oil and my dogs are doing great on it.

Oh...and I also don't know what to do with the smell if you are feeding her a good food.

There are these dog wipes I buy from Petsmart which work pretty well but they don't really cure the underlying problem.

Linatone is also supposed to be very good for the coat. I think some dogs just naturally have a coarser coat than others. I've noticied dogs on the same diet and of the same breed having very different coats. If you feed mainly dry food, some type of oil is recommended. I use corn oil (about a tablespoon per day if you have a large breed). Of course, be sure to feed a high quality food that does not have fillers. Chicken Soup is one of the best, according to people on this forum and others I've visited.

I have to say that corn oil really is not good for dogs. If you are going to give them some sort of oil, give them fish oil.

I give corn oil to the horses...not to dogs.

Smokey and Char were the same breed and both had VERY diffrent coats. Mainly because dogs are like humans in the sence that they are all individually diffrent. No matter what breed. SOme coats will be softer than others, some fuller, some may be leaner than others are bulkier.
