Alright, Now our new kittin lucy has devolped this habbit of running sideways  I mean she literally runs sideways when shes really worked up. Has anyone had this happen before?

Moe does this too. I think it's part of her split-personality disorder. She runs around the room, freezes, meows, jumps in the air, runs sideways and then lays down and goes to sleep. It's hysterical to watch!

That's so funny Obelix + Halaroo. Milo ran sideways a lot when he was a kitten, now he charges straight foward at light speed and runs around circles from the living room to the kitchen to the living room to the kitchen...

As kittens, my cats always did that sideways running. We thought it was hysterical. But, as they got older, they straightened out.

I think I need another kitten. My husband says I'm not allowed.

Lucidity, what would your hubby do if you adopted Zip?

Footsie used to do that a lot. Usually in attack mode. He'd arch up, get a big tail, then run sideways. Its a riot. Now that I think about it he doesn't do it much anymore. I guess its a kitten thing.

LOL I guess its just a common habit? Footise - I was eating when I read your comment and almost chocked to death, Ive never heard anyone say "attack mode" when referring to cats but this is defintially what lucys doing. Anyways, She was running sideways and hit a wall yesterday  hysterical to me but she just got back up and walking off like nothing happened. Thanks for sharing everyone

    vene,

I can't adopt Zip and it's not because of the hubby. If we ever add to the family, we'd have to go for a kitten at this point. A year ago we tried to help my sister who's new boyfriend had allergies to cats. We took in her adult male cat, Shadow. Things were bad. We followed all the textbook rules for introductions. We tried it for 6 months. My cats were so hateful of that poor cat. They forced him to hide under the bed every day. They wouldn't let the poor thing get near the litter box and he ended up going on the bed (and trust me, we weren't mad, we were sorry for the little guy). If we took Zip in, I'm afraid the same thing would happen. He appears to be a shy cat and I don't want to make his life worse by being bullied by my very terratorial cats.

(Luckily, my sister's ex husband took Shadow and decided he wanted him. By the end, we had the cats all seperated out and they were all misreable.)

We actually thought of giving it another try with an adult cat. But, we're going to be out of town for a few weeks over the next couple months. I just don't think it's possible. Maybe if it were different timing, we'd give it a try. But, if I'm not allowed a kitten (which the cats deal with a lot better), I will certainly will have a tough time getting an adult right now.

    -sorry to go off subject!
