Is a birds crop usually big enought to look like a lump sticking out on a bird?

kiwi Is going through a molt & I noticed this lump sticking out on her right hand side the first thing that came to mind was a toumor but when I took her out to feel the lump It is full of seeds so I think it is her croup

would you usulaay see this more because she is going through a molt? should I be worried?

Hi kathy when a bird is molting depending on how much of the feathers they are losing you can usually see the crop sticking out like a lump..

If you are at all worried contact your avian vet and see what they say.
I would keep and eye on her and see how she goes but since you can feel her food its definatly her crop.

Tumours are usually hard and you find that birds usually chew at the infected area.
keep us posted of how she is doing..

Hi glad she is ok most birds like to pig out from time to time even though it scares the life out of us when they have lumps and bumps.
