Crushed coral in a freshwater tank?

    Does andyone know if you can used crushed coral in a freshwater tank?

    I wouldn't use crushed coral in a freshwater tank. First reason is that it will throw the PH high, about 8.4. The second reason is that crushed coral is extremely sharp and freshwater fish are not acustomed to that type of media and can be cut by rubbing against it, especially if they get a parasite like Ick.
