Dandruff problem in puppy

Discussion in 'Dogs - Pit bull breeds specific' started by bullyprintsovermyheart, Jan 21, 2005.

  1. My 3 month old pit has dandruff and is really scratching himself. How do I treat it?

you need to find out why he is scratching, something is irritating him. Have you ruled out fleas?? what type of food is he on, that can be a big culprit with certian ingredients in dog foods can be very irritating. are you bathing too much? If you could provide some more info to help, could be grass, things from the outside environment

  3. He eats science diet/puppy chow, is bathed once a month. I don't think its grass b/c there is snow on the ground. Could it be the blankets on our bed? He sleeps with us... :?:

It could be whatever you wash your blankets in. It could be the shampoo you use on him. To be honest, it could be a lot of things. Could be genetics (dry skin or something).
