My cockateil Jaydi keeps on pooping in her dish... She never sits on her perches... Just her dishes.. I think I am going to get those dishes with the tops on them ( not the plastic ones though ) If I did that would she start going on her perches...? or would she just sit on something else... Like her hanging fuzzy tube. I am only thinking about changing her dishes because I don't think she is really eating/drinking at all.. exept a little, but dirty though... I should change the dishes, right? :?: :!:

My friends Cockateil used to do that and she decided to change her food dishes as well but before putting the new food dishes in she bought her some new toys and some new purches to intertain her. The reason why they do that is because they feel safe in that spot and dont want to leave it. But anyways if changing the food dishes dont work then try hanging some of her favorite treats by the different perches and when you go to put her back in her cage put her by the treats so she knows where they are. But I really wouldnt worry about it too much. Good Luck!!! :D

Hi mine did exactly the same i changed tere perches to tree branches and now they sit on them with no problems at all.

If using tree branches make sure they are scrubbed clean and free from any pestacides, Birds love chewing the bark off the branches and keeps them entertained for hours..

So i would try changing the perches if that dont work go with the changing the dishes and adding more toys again make sure there is not too many in the cage as cockatiels need alot of space.
