Do your kitties get jealous

Ocassionally Socks and Mittens get jealous of one another. We try to give them equal attention but it doesn't always work.

One cute thing they do is if Socks is on my lap and Mittens is lying next to me
Mittens will swish her tail so it disturbes Socks enough to make her leave.

Also if I am lying on the bed watching TV and they are both on the bed with me, sometimes one of them will swish their tail at the other one to make them leave.

Other times if I am petting one the other one will just sit and stare at us. Sometimes Socks will go to her chair in the family room...I guess to pout.

Artemis and Moe are definitely jealous of one another. If I'm paying attention to Moe, Artemis will do something bad (like scratch the furniture) so I'll pay attention to him (with the water bottle). Moe sulks and stares when I pet Artemis. She does the same tail swishing thing that your cats do too!

 

When I still had all my kitties they were constantly jealous.

I remember one time when I was petting Bruce, Sherbert came over and hit Bruce on the top of the head with his paw, it was soo cute.

And another time, Lone Wolf was sitting on my boyfriend's lap and Blaze came over and shoved Lone Wolf away.

I always thought they were so cute and funny when they'd get jealous.

 

My cats are experts of casting a jealous eye across the room.

Also, when I'm petting one of them, another one will come up and blatently push to get in.

I can see the jealousy in their eyes, sometimes.

 

One of my cats (Rags) is very jealous, he is always after a fuss and hes very possesive of me!
Hes only jealous of Tango though, Tango is the oldest male in the house but hes a big softie, if Rags sees me touching Tango he will ALWAYS come and chase him away and Tango always leaves without a fight (although he does sometimes look sad that he's been chased away again!)

 

ohhh yes the tail swishing deal...it goes on daily here...lol chyanne is soooo bad when it comes to me petting someone else... she will come up and jump on my lap (even if someone else is already there) and just plop down after she gives whoever else is on me a nice lil pat w/ the paw and make them leave and then just lay there like ha ha ha im the queen of this house!!!!!! garfield now he will just get up and move when she comes and he will wait his turn..but he cant ever get enough... simba he does the tail deal along w/ come chattering and a stare... princess she just waits her turn but if chyanne slaps her then chyanne will get hissed at in return... and prissy i dont think she really cares yet cause shes still sooo spoiled by being the "BABY" by my son...lol ohh and did i mention chyanne hates my dog she cannot stand him if hes on the bed when she gets up there she shows him whos bed it is and he better get off...she will put a butt woopin on his chihuhaha butt!!!(ya i know i spelt it wrong lol)

 

Rene- always jealous of everyone. She will chase away Monty+ Pumpkin, and attempt to chase Milo away when they are getting individual attention or pout and hide in the basement. Pumpkin and Milo looks for attention all the time, but if someone else is there first, they will turn around and walk or jump away. They are jealous creatures. Monty, on the other hand is the purrfect cat. He's never jealous and is always happy to get his turn and whatever attention we shower upon him. :mrgreen:

 

i think shadow is jelous of buster (even though he was here furst) she attacks him and all he does is look at her. i think its because i got her from a shelter and shes afraid that if i pay attention to buster i dont love her and will take her back. she had been in the shelter 3 months, since she was a kitten and i dont think she ever had a home before.
