Dock Dog Competition in Houston 6/27/08, Entering Duke

Just read in this mornings paper that the Outdoor Channel will be in Houston tomorrow afternoon to host a dock dog competition at a new park in downtown Houston. This will be the first time the competition will be held in Houston. I figure that of the 4 million people in the Houston area about half have Labs so I expect a huge turn out. The only thing that might hold down the numbers is it's on a Friday afternoon. I will have to take a half day vacation from work to enter Duke.
At 6 1/2 years old I have no expectations that he will make it over 10 feet but it will be fun to participate.

Here's a photo of Duke practicing his flying. He gets pretty good air and this was taken at the old park where there is no ramp so this leap was from ground level.

 

Wow what a great shot he looks like he enjoys doing a flying jump into the pool...

As i always say never underestimate a dog they have a way of proving us wrong, Got my fingers crossed for duke in the competition.

Faith LOVES to dock dive.. LOL ok.. so she does flying leaps into her little baby pool.. but she'd probably do it there too!! LOL

The newspaper was wrong. Luckily I just found out that the competition will run all weekend with registration at 8:00am each morning. WE will be there tomorrow. This is an official Dock Dog competition. Here's the link to the even page:
