I have been having a severe Gout attack in the big toe area on my right foot for the past week. The pain is like stepping on a hot nail then twisting it around randomly.
Duncan my older RottenChow has been spending more with me time since this started happening and he even walks in front of me when I am trying to do my chores around the house.
Funniest thing is I was sitting in my deck chair out on the back deck and he spent several minutes smelling my foot. He eventually got to the spot where my pain is and and really got involved in inspecting the area. After he was finished with smelling and even a lick or 2 around the effected area. He eventually laid his head and paw over my foot but he would not relax.
I don't put anything on the foot and there is some swelling and redness but otherwise nothging that couls indicate to the dog there is something wrong. But he could actually smell or sense the exact location of my problem.

Did you know theyre been training dogs to locate skin cancers? I think there doing a lot more lately, havent kept up on the progress but the dogs can find the exact location on the skin before any testing is done.

    Hope your foot feels better.

Yes I saw a show on it. Which makes me want to speak a little more with my doctor about some X-Rays for my foot.

    Thanks, it just takes time.
