I recently switched my dogs food from Chicken Soup to Cali Natural...and his gas is horrible.. I guess its the food. Do you think it will get any better? Any experience with this food?

It could be the switch. I'd give it a little while to see if the dog adjusts to it, if not i'd go back to what the dog was on previously.

    Why did you switch?

I switched about 2 months ago and it seems like its getting worse. The reason I switched is because after reading and getting some advice on why my dogs was chewing at his feet so often, this food was advised because of its simple formula. Although I'm thinking of switching back. I don't know what to do, he is still chewing on his feet also... I think they are both good foods and he really likes the new one. :?

Put a clove of crushed garlic in his food and that should help as it sounds like the new food is not digesting properly.

Try also soaking the food for a few minutes.
My old dog had terrible gas the kind that could stip paint lol so i gave her a crushed clove of garlic in her food everyday and within a week it settled down.

They say garlic is toxic to dogs but what they do not say is that they have to consume 15kg of garlic in one go for it to be toxic.

Hope it helps let us know..

My Boxer/lab Buster has paint peeling gas as well and how I have curbed it is I wet his dry food down and he gets 2 tbsp of no-fat plain yogurt for the probiotics. It helps out a ton!! I realized that he ate really fast and inhaled it without chewing..... So getting it wet helped he kinda chews more because he has to lap the food up. and the yogurt helps with the enzymes in his belly.

I believe most food allergies are caused by corn in the food. I have read before on another board that someone said the California Natural alsogave their dog gas.
I would transistion to another high quality food that does not contain any corn and see if tht helps.
