    HELP!
No matter what, my dog always seems to find an extension cord, a cable wire...something to chew on.
I find pieces of ripped rubber & copper wiring all ove rmy floors.
I assume she eats some of the copper wiring, b/c she will throw up her food and I can see the copper in it. She only throws up once in a while. I go around looking for loose wires, and cords, and no matter what- she finds them. She squeezes into the tiniest of places, she is 50 lbs.
    I dunno what to do.
Is she going to be OK?? She has been getting into these wires for the last 3 days, and seems to be OK. Does anyone know about the copper in it?? Can it, will it hurt her stomach lining or intestines??????
I know not to allow her to make a habit out of this...
I have tons of toys for her to chew on and play with......maybe she is bored with them???

Oh my -- this is a serious problem that you have got to nib in the bud!!

Get out your can with pennies or spray bottle with water and really give that thing a shake (or spray) whenever you see your pup going near a wire!!!! Be vigilant!!!

You need to hide the wires, tape them down, spray them with bitter apple = whaterver it takes to keep him away from them!!! You may even need to invest in a shock collar to correct this very serious problem.

Not only is it a bad thing for your dog to be eating wire - he could puncture his stomach or intestines - which could prove to be fatal.

But, if he chews on a live electric cord with a current --------

I hope you can correct this problem quickly.

you can buy a rubber material that covers the wires. Like you might see in an office environment so people don't trip over wiring.
I have a friend who had to use this stuff for her kitten. she (kitten not my friend) kept chewing on cords and such so my friend got this stuff at home depot and it did help. She put bitter apple on it so the kitten wouldn't chew at that material

We put bitter apple on EVERYTHING! Ranger likes to lick the bitter apple sometimes (i have no idea why) but he has never really had too much of a problem with chewing or digging. Snickers, on the other hand, has chewed our house, dug up plants and the yard...so we spray bitter apple in those areas, and it does keep her away. Snickers HATES the bitter apple, and runs away as soon as she see's you squirting it. I don't know why she has such a reaction to it, but it has kept her from chewing and digging. Usually once we spray it somewhere once, she won't chew/dig there ever again.

Thank you all very ,uch for your comments and help.
My dog LOVES that bitter apple stuff. Yup, can you believe it? We had to put that on our furniture b/c she was biting the wood on our tables.
(that was when she was a pup)
The only wire she got to was one that was not plugged into anything. Apparently, my husband disconnected our old cable box, and just left this cable wire behind our bed/on the floor....where she was able to squeeze to get. I think every cable, wire, everything is NOW off of the floor and in places she cannot reach~!
She seems to be OK...its been quite a few days now, and she is eatign well and going to the bathroom OK so I hope her belly/intestines/lining etc are all OK....
    Thanks for the help!! :)
