Doorbell or knocking on door sends her into a frenzy.

Maddy goes after the other dog when this happens. She is 1 year old.If you just walk in the door she barks constently and wags her tail in circles. She will let you pet her and after awhile she calms down and is quiet. She is the biggest baby I know. She sucks on a stuffed animal like a nursing puppy. The two of them sleep side by side in my bed. They play together etc... but the ringing of the door bell causes her to lose her mind. Is this behavior something I can correct?Has anyone else had this problem?I'm thinking she is just protecting the house and me since it's only them and me here.I'm planning on putting her in an obedience class soon.

maybe the sound iritates her? certain highpitched ringtones on my cell phone drives my oldest nuts. she goes crazy and howls like a wolf. what type of doorbell do you have. also just teach her/reassure her that "its ok" after awhile she should stop unless the sound is just painfully unbearable for her.
