Duke is now a Nanny

After the attack on Freckles a couple of weeks ago I have been very observant of the boys behavior while at the dog park. Perhaps I just never noticed it before but it is very obvious that Duke is indeed Freckle's nanny.
Last weekend everytime Freckle's would find a new playmate and go off to chase each other, Duke would follow about fifteen feet behind them and a little to the side. Duke never tried to intervene in the play but he was always watching. This happened on three different occasions last weekend.
If the dog Freckles was playing with stopped and faced Freckles, Duke would immediately run up to the pair and stand by. If they raced off again Duke would follow.
I guess Duke has decided he is now Freckles bodyguard. :D

That is so neat! I love it when dogs look out for each other like that.

That's so sweet! As I said on the other post--my brother didn't even do that for me! And my dogs certainly don't look out for each other.
