Duke's ear developed a yeast infection and he aggravated a hot spot infection on the side of his face from scratching. The hot spot is the size of a tennis ball. The Vet shaved and cleaned the spot and then tested to identify the infection in order to prescribe the correct antibiotic. She then gave Duke a Cortisone injection to ease the itching.
Here's what I have to do for the next 14 days.
1 Simplicef antibiotic tablet a day
Clean the ear canal with MalAcetic Otic solution.
Treat the ear with five drops of Mometamax ear drops.
Spray the hot spot four times a day with Gentocin topical spray.
All total for this little infection:
    Medications $168.00
Vet services and lab work $87.50
The look of pure relief in Duke's eyes- priceless.
