Eating problems with my pup.

I sent my 8 month GS pup to a Dog Training School (boarding) since September for a 3 month training. I do visit her regularly and we have actibvities with her trainer. Problem is 4 days ago she had a fever and refuses to eat her dog food (nutro choice). The fever lasted for a day though but she continues to eat only a little( only a bite) of the dog food and became lethargic and thin. So I brought her home today where she immediately ran for the fridge. I gave her one whole "raw" chicken and she ate it like there is no tomorrow, yeah she ate it in one sitting. Could her lack of appetite be the cause of us feeding her dry dog food? Mind you, before I sent him to training, I was already feeding her raw like all of my dogs. Thanks in advance. :)

I take it you sent your pup to someone else to train and care for?
Maybe they aren't feeding her enough

Maybe she still wasn't feeling well and the raw is tastier? Or maybe she was homesick and wouldn't have eaten anything there, no matter what it was? Is she going back, and if so can you pay them extra to feed her raw food that you supply?

My dogs are raw fed but they would still gobble down a bowl full of kibble if you gave it to them. In fact, I use a high-quality kibble for training treats.

I'd say if she is healthy and eating for you, I just wouldn't worry about it. Unless she is going back, that is.

Is your dog in at the training school for specialized training?? 3 months is a long time for basic obedience.

Depending on what type of training is being done it can be stressful for the dogs if they dont get any time off.

    I was just curious.
