I know that when my babies were really little I had a handful. I'd run around the room stopping them from getting into things and the conversation went something like, "Hey, put that down....get that out of your mouth....don't go near there....come back here!" It was like having a couple of 2 year olds.

Now I unfortunately only have one left but he seems to have reached the "troublesome teenager" stage.

I had some folded money sitting on top of my purse and Aoisha sneaked up, grabbed it in his mouth and quickly ran away. Then, I found out he'd been hiding his catnip mice underneath his bed. And also, one night I had the living room window open and without me noticing he bent the screen and snuck outside to roam around the apartment complex....good thing we caught him about 5 minutes later.

But geez...stealing money from mom's purse, hiding catnip under his bed, sneaking out at night....I can only look forward to the future when he gets a job and can pay his own pet rent. :y_the_best:

Yep, that's my family in a nutshell - the 18 month old, Rene, Milo, and Pumpkin. If it's not one kid, it's the other getting into trouble. Monty is the only grown up mature kiddy around here!

LOL LOL I always tell my husband that as one of my human kids leave home I replace him with a cat

2 sons...3 cats it evens out LOL and one of the 2 sons is still at home!!! When he leaves I won't be able to handle the "empty nest" so I'll have to replace him with a cat

makes total sense to me! although my girlfriend says that if you are a single woman you shouldnt have more than four cats...otherwise you become the dreaded "cat lady"

I even got to the point that I use their full name when they're in trouble and their nickname when they're being cute.

"Zoe, if you scratch that chair one more time...."

"Oh Zo,Zo,Zo,Zo, you're soooo cute. What a good little girl."

My husband and I also tell the cats, "Boris, go see your father." Or, "Chloe, go tell mom what you want."

I don't know when or how we slipped into that habit, but my family laughs at me for it!

Let's face it, our cats are our kids!

I agree I've often said my cats are like children
They wake me up to get there breakfast
Then (my two black cats eat it so fast) are sick on the carpet (fairly regularly!) :?
They want my attension 24hours a day
Then they want to sleep right between me and b/f and spread themselves out so theres no room for us! :(

But at the end of the day they're my babies and I Love them to bits :D

My husband and I refer to each other as Mama and Daddy when we talk to the cats...we don't have children so these guys are it. I'm still waiting for the day though when they will be toilet trained so I don't have to stoop and scoop  --they're MY cats then, so that's MY job, but when they're cute and cuddly then they're Daddy's kitties. I'd also like to be able to claim them as dependants but I don't think that would fly.

    That's funny!

I never thought of that. I wish I could claim mine, too.

I do the momma/daddy thing too. Except his daddy is in Texas and I'm in Michigan. But I'll still call him and say "YOUR child is being a brat".

And my other kitty (the one that passed away) I called him Esca for short all the time btu I was mad I'd use his full name Escavadore. He'd really know he was in trouble when he heard it too!!
