Feeding Raw Eggs, Recommended for Vitamin E

In response to DMikeM's question about feeding nuts I found this article. In it it recommends raw nuts as a source of vitamin E. It also states that a good source of both selenium and vitamin E is raw eggs. I give the boys a raw egg each every Sunday as a special treat. They absolutely love them, shell and all. As soon as I show them the eggs they both erupt into a frantic dance of pure joy.
    :D
The recommendation is to feed one egg every three days so I guess the boys will get another treat for breakfast on Wednesdays as well.
Here is the link to the article I found:

I have been giving my dogs eggs for years, just not regularly. The nuts seem to have become a craving for them now. They will go to the table where I keep the basket of nuts and stare at the basket, willing it to magically call me to get them some treats. Dogs seem to know what is good for them most times and it is a cheap treat for all of us.
Looks like we have a new addition to our diets nuts and a few raw eggs a week.

So you just give them an egg straight out of the egg carton? Nothing is done to it from the grocery store to their mouths? I assume this is something that should be fed outside?

Sorry if I sound stupid. I'm a vegetarian so I don't know much about eggs. lol.

I think I'll try that. It may be good for Indy's skin.

All I do is break one egg in each of their bowls. At first Duke would leave the shell which Freckles would then promptly finish off. Now Duke eats shell and all.

Since my dogs eat separately, I typically smash one egg in Bonnie's bowl and then toss the shell in. I hand Nala's egg to her outside and she sets it down and carefully punctures it and laps it all up. They used to leave the shells, but since I cut back on their food they now eat the shells. I try to buy the organic eggs - cage-free hens, no antibiotics - because they are higher in omega-3's. I don't wash them or anything before feeding them.
