I was told that you could put zucchini or cucumbers in the tank and the fish would eat them. I bought one of the suction cup holders but they don't even seem to notice its there. How do you get them to eat it?

Funny you should ask, DHutch!! I just took this pic yesterday.

My plecos LOVE fresh zuchinni or squash. So, apparently, do my clown loaches!! I try to give them fresh veggies at least twice a week.

I rubberband slices to a rock. By morning, all that's left is the ring of the zuchinni!!

    What else are you feeding?

Your fish will eat it :)

I have found though that if the temp in your tank is around 30 degrees
that the cucumber etc goes all squishie and makes a mess of your tank - they do in nz anyway!

I usually feed mine flakes and sometimes pellets. I tried to put some squash in mine and used a suction cup thing that is made for that and they never would touck it. I'll try the rubberbands. Thanks

    Thanks, M!

I have two 37 gallons and one five gal corner Eclipse tank. I keep blood parrots, clown loaches, lots of plecos and cories and one new baby golden sev!

I'm planning on changing the gravel out to either black sand or black gravel.

Black Bullheads (prolly all) will also eat cucumber slices.

    I tried squash..

I put some squash on a rock with a rubberband wrapped around it last night but they never touched it.
