Female Cat Peeing on Carpet

Lately the female cat (8 years old) has been peeing in my son's room. She is bonded to him. After he has kept his door closed she is peeing on the carpet outside his door. I have two other cats, males, which she doesn't like. She has never been very social except with my son.
I've recently tried putting a litter box in my son's bathroom so she could use that. That didn't work. She still pees in the same spot. I've tried numerous products to clean and remove the odor. Anyone else have any ideas?

Has your kitty been checked for a urinary tract infection? Sometimes that will cause them to pee in unwanted places. Has any routine changed lately with your pets. Maybe she could be stressed over something.

I know it can be a real problem. I don't have any great suggestions other than maybe having her be seen by a Vet. I'm sure other people on the Board may have some suggestions. Good luck. :|

After ruling out health problems with the vet maybe you can place some cat treats on the pee area. Cats don't like to go to the bathroom at the same place that they eat from. Did you try using Nature's Miracle product?

Could you block her from the area that she's peeing in? Or put the litter box on top of the spot while the odor neutralizers work.

But definately take her to the vet. It could be a UTI or crystals.

i was just about to start a post on the same topic! dale has not been using her litter box (pee and poo) i can't figure out what it is. it is driving me crazy this has been ongoing for like a year now, we have moved, changed litter box types, litter types, positioning, different foods, taken her to the vet. I feel like I have done everything and nothing helps. what can I do? it seems to come and go in spurts, she seems to get better then we find poo. My husband is so sick and tired of it too so he complains all the time, he locks her in the bedroom all day while I am at work (with litter box and food &water), then when I come home I let her out. then he'll put her back in the room when we sleep. but before that I was giving her lots of attention. i need some suggestions, beyond the normal ones! I've tried all of them. i love my little daley she is so sweet, i hate it that she is pooing and peeing where she shouldn't.

    Found something that works.

Well as you can see, anything new in the house can cause stressful situations - which cats don't generally like. My one is high maintenance. I did some research regarding the Fenham (sp?) Phereomone Diffuser.
Its called Fenham Feline Diffuser. It comes in a spray and also in a "plug-in" type device.
I first tried the nature's miracle on the spots she was peeing. Then I added a litter box close to this area. Don't put it on top of the area as the other cats took advantage of this and covered the smell with the litter from the box. I put foil over the spot while it dried. (I think you have to use several applications of the natures miracle stuff to get it all out.) But in the meantime I've applied the spray of the Feline Diffuser in several areas of the house and it has calmed her. Since the first day I used it she has gone in the litter box. I also was reading that instead of cleaning the litter box once a day do it twice. The combination of these things has helped her tremendously. She hasn't used the carpet once since I started the diffuser. It evidently uses the "friendly" phereomones to calm everyone down. I found the Feline Diffuser with the cheapest price at Omaha Vaccines website. Good luck.
