I know the towns and cities did a great job evacuating, and it was hard on people. But why during a crisis do people reject their animals?

Thursday night or early Friday morning a Black German Shephard (full blood) showed up at my door. he was wearing a Green nylon collar and a choke chain with no tags. I scanned him at the vets, no microchipp.
I knotified all vets and clinics and groomers and naimal people within 50 miles of him... no call or any signs of an owner.
So my guess is, he was dumped or fell off the back of someones vehicle (yall wouldn't believe how many dogs were in the back of peoples trucks not tied in that hot heat....)
and the owner either doesn't care or isn't looking in the right area for him.
He's an intact male, a little on the thin side, but doesn't really want to eat either. He's very loving, maybe 2-3 yrs old. Knows some basic obediance, but jumps up and is mouthy.
We're calling him Boudrex for the time being.

Then My sister was making her way through the back roads during the traffic, and someone left a white pit bull female in a crate on the side of the road, in the middle of nowhere.... So my sister loaded her up and brung her home.
She's a pure white pit. (has her hearing and is not blind) not spayed, maybe 4-5 yrs old. VERY HYPER!!! Has no obediance, but is a loving girl. She's not dog or any kind of agressive. And LOVES to tug. She's in wonderful shape. Her muscles are ripped and very toned. She had no tags or collar or microchipping.
We're calling her Malibu (Mali for short).

And the Cat.... Someone threw a yellow cat out the window on 90 outside a friends farm. She called me and I went and picked her up. She's about 10 weeks old and sooo sweet!!! She smelled horrible and suffered some abrasion to her paws and broke a few claws. Her name is Sally and is now with a good friend Granvel works with. he keeps her in his Camper at the Lake with him, and is going to take her home with him this weekend when he goes back to his house. (Most welders are from out of town and stay in campers during the week due to their long hours, and long drives).

I've got photos of both dogs, but will have to wait till I get home to post! (I'm at the university computer center at the moment!!! LOL)

Then Yesterday I'm driving home from Grocery Shopping and I saw something in the road and a truck coming... The truck swerved towards the object and ran it over sending it flying.... I knoticed then it was a turtle!!! So I stopped all traffic on HWY 71 and picked it up. His belly was cracked and you could see fat coming out the crack. he would't move his legs, but still could move his head back and forth and in and out of his shell.
I totally suspected he broke his back (the shell is connected to it) and paralized him. I know he had internal injuries, he was bleeding from his rectum and out his mouth.... Sadly he died before I could get him home.....

    I really hate some people...

I think Mali is going to stay. Amanda has really fallen in love with her and she's such a great dog.

I had her take her to the vet for me and the vet chewed her up one side and back down the other. Accusing her of stealing her.... I had to ahve a BIG talk with him abou tthat.

I guess I can understand though... she's a gorgeous pit and obviously of good bloodline. And with the rate of pits being stolen and fought and so on... I guess Id have to be skeptical as well.

But the German has got to go. He's a monster. Sure he's sweet, but what little obediance he knows... he's reverting on, and is very mouthy and with a mouth that can fit over my head and all those sharp teeth, its not safe. We're working on it, but I need someone that KNOWS german shephards and has dealt with them. I honestly have not, I've just "known" people that have had them and played with them every now and then myself.
He's a mystery.... no training methods are working with him.. I think he had ADHD.
