Fish eating plants

Is there a way to stop my fish from eating my live plants? I have Clow Loaches, Bala and Red Tail Sharks, stuff like that. Any sugestions?

 

Iv learnt this the hard way, there isnt really much of a way to save your plants, the best you can do is get a sprey for your plants that you put on them, its sapposed to keep the fish from eating them but im not to sure how well it really works. Other then that i know there is one plant that the fish wont eat but im not sure of the name. Oh and welcome to auspet!

 

Generally you just have to find the type of plant tailored to the fish, on the otherhand their are many fish that just dont do well with plants.

 

i had to remove my live plants cause the pacus kept eating them too, i replaced them with plastic ones........THEY ATE THEM TOO!!!!
So i said "fine ...no plants fo you" and removed them all together!

 

omgosh. lol that sux, though how did they eat the plastic ones?? kinda funny. though i found that i need one cause the airator isnt enough.

 

You could try putting lettuce or cucumber in the tank, weigh it down so it sinks and leave it 2 days so they got time to discover it, if they dont like the lettuce you can try a different sort, my clowns like iceburg lettuce but my dads only like cos lettuce so its all trial and error, just make sure you remove all traces after 3 days and put fresh in. hope this helps.

 

I tryed that the other day, it didnt really work, though i think that one of my fish might be eating them, cause i see them one day gone the next and when i gravel clean the snail shells come up outa nowhere.
