Fish "Laws" lol

Ok I feel like the dumbest person in the world right now asking this. Will fish breed with their brothers and sisters or is there some kind of scent that keep them away from breeding with them?? Like will my Convict fry breed with each other?

 

Oh yes, relatives breed with each other. And just like with people too much of this and you get deformities, lowered immune systems etc. That is one of the reasons guppies are so delicate now, because of all the inbreeding people do for a specific color or tail shape. It's really sad actually

any type of incest is a bad thing for pretty much anything They end up with (like tina said) deformed, retardation etc etc

They do breed with eachother. My tuxedo platies fry are inbreed. None of them have deformed anything, they are heathy and all, though somewhere along the way if this did go on then you would get the deformed baby.
