At the dog park yesterday I met a couple entering the park with a pack of English Springer Spaniels. Seeing Freckles they commented that they thought his main bloodline was Welsh Springer Spaniel. I had never heard of that breed so I did a search this morning and was amazed at the resemblance. Most photo's I found were dogs with docked tails but I did find some without the docked tails. Of course Freckles partial blue eye means there is more in his genetic makeup that Welsh Spaniel but I am now more convinced that he follows this line closer than either Britany og Engilsh Springer.
Here are three photos. First Freckles then two other pure bred Welshies. See what you think.

    Dukesdad,

    Very similar look!

I guess without history on your mised breed it makes fir very interesting guessing games...

I agree with you Dukes Dad. There is no way that the coloring pattern, especially down towards the bottom of the legs could be identical almost without being a match. How interesting. I wish I knew what the other "half" of Freckles was though. I would look for the exact same mix since Freckles is one of my all time favorite looking dogs.

yep, very close, now lookat frekcles head and ears, he has a shorter nose and ears, so that is coming from the other mix. it almost looks like a lab nose, ears and tail. he also looks a bit stockier braoder??

Well, yes that is quite the resemblance! Isn't is great running into people with the same breed (or group)?

Wow! That is a very close resemblance. I had a similar experience when someone told me Nala looks like an Appenzeller, which I had never heard of before.
