GET OFF THE COUNTER!, TABLE!, DESK!!!!

Discussion in 'Cats - all breeds / types' started by SebastionNRooneysMom, Jul 17, 2005.

  1. Lol as you can already guess we're having problems with our kittens jumping up on the counters, tables, and desks. When we catch them we yell loud and firm NO! GET DOWN Sebastion usually gets down but Rooney will just look at us. We laos spray them with the water bottle and pick them up and toss them off whatever their on.

They never did in the apartment I think because there was always to much stuff on the table to jump up on there. And the chairs weren't by the counter like they are now. We will wake up and the one lamp and clock will be knocked off once of the living room tables and the radio will be knocked over on the kitchen table. They run all through out the house at night.

They get down when we catch them but its at night when they go wild. ANd my moms paranoid about her blinds being screwed up because Rooney likes to jump up on the table and take his paws and peek out of them.

So We're going to moveboxes out of my room and at night just keep them in my room with their food water and litter box.

Any other ideas on training kittens not to jump up on all this stuff?Seems their too smart for their own good.

well.. my babies are allowed to do pretty much whatever they want... which sometimes isnt a good thing!!! but along time ago when i didnt have as many cats i trained my 1 cat by using double sided tape...he would love to get up on top of the tv, counters etc.. so i used the tape and the next time he went up there was his last.. he didnt care for that tape and it was so funny to watch him when he got on it... and now that my 5 cats i have now are allowed to do pretty much whatever they want i rarely see them on the counters etc.. we have many many many cat trees that they would rather be on...lol we did however have a problem w/ them scratching furniture and im not sure what the product that we used was, but it was something that you spray on and the cats stay away...but they use their cat tress now 4 that...

  3. thanks i will keep that in mind. We're going to do a shopping spree at petsmart next week (moving we havent been able to just yet) and we plan on buying them a cat condo and a tree and a number of other things.
