Ok so last night after driving forever and talking to the lady. I finally got there and picked up my sisters new Toy Chihuhaha puppy!

Shes the cuttest little thing you've EVER seen.
She had just gotten her shots yesterday morning. It must have made her sick, she threw up on me twice on the way home...YUCK!!!

So with out further Ado: Here's Chakita's Lil' Angel

She's sooo tiny! She's 7 weeks old, and only weighs about 1/2 lb. She fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. Just the cutest wittle bitty thing!!!
Oh yeah. Got a manicure for christmas! LOL.....

SO any chi people, We've got lots of questions!!
She's on Eukanuba small breed puppy food. and sleeps ALOT.

Ohyeah. I had to buy her a Ferret collar because I couldn't find one small enough for her. I got one with a bell, that way we know where she is a ALL times..

Her daddy was a really pretty sable and was only 5 lbs, and Momma was white with black and was only 4.5 lbs. Both were very healthy, had won a couple shows....

    OOOH, she's just sooo cute!

As you can tell, I'm an excited Aunt!!!

My BF and I met one... My horse trainer friend had one in a tiny crate...like for bunnies or something... ANyway my BF was like... WHAT Is tHAT?!?... I looked inside and said... I THINK it's a dog... LOL...she was as big as Riot's EAR... I said...COULD be a rodent...but...I think it's just a Chi puppy... Andy the BF was like... OMG... We had her take the puppy out...dang so cute but sooooo tiny... My BB puppy would even assume it was a squeeky toy.... she had an English Mastiff puppy about the same age...put them in together and I wished I had a camera... SOooooo tiny.

She is. My sister just called with some devistating news....She took her to the vet to have her checked out, and she's got a large intesinal hernia. Along with that she's got a hole in her head. Small, and he said that was VERY common in chihuhaha's. Hernias were too in all small breeds.

Soo..Amanda is upset. She doesn't want to take it back to get a diffrent puppy, and the cost is going to be like $200 to get it fixed, on top of the $400 she paid!
UGH.. So I'm taking a trip back to the lady today to see if I can't get reimbersment for the proceedure. The puppy contract said, had to go to the vet with in 24 hrs, if any LIFE THREATENING or HEALTH problems persist, it can be returned for another puppy or reembersment.

    So we'll see.

Intestinal hernia??? YIKES! How frustrating... I hope the breeder helps with cost rather than insisting on replacing the puppy... some breeders are that way...ugh...

I just got back. She wanted to replace her with her sister. I said no. We're already attached, I just want to cover the vet cost. So she agreed. The vet said it'd be like $150-200 to fix. So She gave me $150.

Thats better than nothing I guess.

Yeah...lots of times I've heard they either have to give the dog back and trade or get another... MOST people work replacements to give you ANOTHER dog in place of the sick one and don't require a trade...or what you mentioned she wanted to do... Soooo that's that... Gald you got something!

Sorry to hear about yopur sisters chi. Alot of people will just replace the sick dog and you must return the other dog. the place in her head will be just fine they are just like a baby but, some will close all the way and some will not. but that is fine. Good Luck to your sister and her dog.

Sams, be very careful with the new pup. Seven weeks is WAY too young for a very small dog, like a "toy" chi. They are very fragile and can dehydrate or go hypoglycemic VERY easily. Most breeders of small pups won't let them go to their homes until about 12 weeks - longer than larger dogs.

    Yeah, I know...The momma wouldn't accept the puppies after they were 6 weeks....They're 7 1/2 now..

    Here's little Tubby:

I have her behind my desk in a box...she's tearing up a ball and causing quite the scene. She's a wopping 1/3lb!!!

    yeah..woopsie! Forgot to post! lOL

I went and got her yesterday she's 8 weeks. I took her straight from the breeder to the vets office. She fits just perfectly in the palm of your hand....The ball is the same size as a tennis ball, so that should give you an idea of how small she is. A whopping 1/4 pounder!!! She finally fell asleep on a napkin I put in there for her....

She tested positve for roundworms (which is normal) and coccidia. But she does not have the coccidiosis disease.....basically 75% of all animals including humans have it. Its just weather or not they are affected by it...so I did alot of reasearch last night on it. and he's right...So she's got wormed and some little pills she has to take. Along with a big tube of Nutrical, thats like crack for puppies, I swear!! She goes crazy over the stuff! LOL At least we don't have to fight her to give it too her. Just squeeze some on your finger and she attacks it!! LOL....

But with out further ado: Here's Lil' Miss Poochie (AKA: Tubby)

Amanda when she picked her out:
when I got back to work (had to bring her back with me so I could finish out my day) Her discovering her new ball, he he he...the ball is as big as she is!!!

    Grabbing the ball:

    Attacking the ball:

"HI!! I didn't do anything, PROMISE!!!"

    Finally the beast sleeps.

Just so you know, I didn't get a damn thing accomplished with a puppy behind my desk!!!!
