Grave Marker Stolen Recently

I'm very upset. Someone, probably a kid stole Vene's gravemarker today or yesterday. :cry: There was a little depression on the ground where the marker used to be and I combed and scouted the area with no luck of it in sight. :x I am beyond mad. I hope this is an isolated incident. The marker looks similar to this except it's a kitty sleeping curled up in a "c" with roses across the top of the marker:



Now I'm also worried that they might prowl through our yard or home and steal or destroy other things. I'm very concerned for the welfare of my 2 year old toddler and my 4 kitties even though we have an alarm system. Just venting.

 

How incredibly disrespectful! I am so sorry vene. I too would be furious and I hope you will not have a prowler on your hands.

 

ohhh i am soooo sorry to hear about that... :cry: i would be very upset as well :x as we were talking about in the post that i made.... i can imagine how u must feel...ppl can be sooo mean sometimes and not care about others.... i hope that you do end up finding it!!!

 

I'm so sorry Vene. If someone did steal it, that is just so wrong. Bad Karma! Is the grave on your property?

I hope it's not a prowler, but just a kid that did that. Even then... That person/s will have very bad karma from stealing it I'm sure. The grave is on my property all the way in the rear of my backyard behind a row of 10-15 foot arborvites next to a 6 foot dwarf Japanese red maple. I do live next to the town park so lots of people can look into my yard and see what's there and access it if they choose to even though there's a 15 foot fence at the border. I've seen teenagers climb the fence to get tennis balls or hockey pucks that land in our yard. I'm thinking of painting Venus on a rock and using it as a marker. I'm going to wait until next year to replace a better marker or risk getting objects stolen again. My neighbor has a gorgeous stone and plaster buffalo land ornament. I would dread it if a prowler/prowlers took that away from them or destroyed it in some way. Thanks for all your support. :love_y_t_much:

I'm so sorry. People are so cruel sometimes. What kinda of security system do you have? Maybe some kind of yard security system would help. I know a dog would do the trick but you might not want a dog.Maybe a wooden fence so they can't see in? That looks like it would be hard just to walk away with. I can't imagine why anyone would want it. It has sentimental value to you not them. Hopefully it turns up. Can you file a police report and maybe they'll watch your yard more or maybe there has been similar things happening in the neighborhood?

 

You know, WHAT is this world coming to when someone would STEAL a cat's grave marker knowing full well that it would absolutely crush that person's heart!?!! :x

ARRGGHH!! Where is the empathy towards one another? How did things get so bad? Where did it all go wrong?

When I was a teenager, I would never dream of hurting someone else so badly. Where I live, people will shoot you at the drop of a hat. Nobody cares about anybody and you can't even go out at night without running into someone who wants to do you harm.

How does this kind of coldhearted behavior happen?

God! It makes me want to break down and cry right now thinking of how badly that must've hurt you, vene. I'm so so sorry for the sickening behavior that was shown to you. You're an absolute sweetheart, you didn't deserve this! NOBODY deserves this! :cry:

Bellack, we have a house alarm system that's similar to ADT's but we don't have a yard alarm system and we don't intend on getting one. No dogs. I love them dearly, but they are too high maintenence. Yes, the marker is purely sentimental and monetary wise is worth very little. Rowdy, Halaroo, et al. Thanks for all your support. I'm thinking if the thief wants it that bad, he/she can have it. There was obviously no conscience involved or it wouldn't have happened in the first place. It was probably a kid who did it or the outcome could've been worse.

Hopefully whoever stole it will have a guilty conscience and return it.

 

Sorry to hear about this. I hope that you'll be able to find another suitable marker. I have a feeling that it was probably a kid who took it on a whim and didn't think of anyone else's feelings. Maybe you could get one of those motion detector lights? They're pretty cheap and probably pretty effective at scaring away kids. Although if you have outdoor kitties, it might freak them out to have the light go on everytime they move.

 

Well, I couldn't wait until next year to replace the marker so we puchased this one on ebay:

What person in their right mind would be so disrespectful as to steal a grave marker of someones obviously deeply beloved cat! Ergh, that just boils me. :!: I've read this over and over before replying because I just couldn't picture the...... #@$@$# that would do something like that!

Ah! It makes me so angry, I can't imagine how upset you were!

But, that is a beautiful replacement marker, although, you shouldn't have had to replace it to begin with. I too hope that karma gets the better of those responsible.
