Hello im Samantha im a 47 year old animal lover. My family and I run a small big cat/animal sanctuary. Other than the 4 Bobcats, 1 snow leopard, 2 clouded leopards, 3 servals, 1 black leopard, 1 Caracal, and 1 Cougar. We have 9 rescued dogs and three dogs we bought who are working dogs. Right now my scanner is broken so I have no pics to share as of now but I promise to post some soon! Until then here is a bit about each of my dogs.

    Non Rescues-

Hiro- 4 year old male Akita. Hiro is trained in personal protection and is one of the sanctuary's guardians. He is very protective of his family and kitties. He is also very well socialized and trained and is a all around great dog.

Falak- 6 year old male Anatolian Shepherd. Falak is not trained in personal protection but is a natural guard dog. He is for the most part aloof and is usually on the look out for trouble. He is a sweetie though and extremely smart.

Sebastiaan- 2 year old male Belgian Tervuren. Sebastiaan like Hiro is trained in personal protection and is our rookie. He is our first Belgian anything and it has been an experience owning and training him. He is extremely smart and cunning.

    The rescues.

Mouse- 8 year old male Welsh Corgi/Australian Shepher mix. Mouse is deaf and partially blind. We got him 5 years ago from the shelter when my friend called asking if we had room for him. Because of his handicaps no one was interested he was also high energy and had no house training or leash manners. We took him in and today Mouse is a happy well adjusted member of the family. He is also a cub sitter.

Rosie- 5 year old female Basset Hound/ Shar Pei mix. Rosie was anouther special case where my friend from the rescue called me for a special favor. Rosie at the time was two years old and came from a home where she was kept in a dank dark basement with 14 other dogs. They were fed very little and so they turned on each other. She was one of the few healthy enough to try and rehome. But Rosie had severe dog and food aggression. She also had anxiety issues from living her first two years of life in a basement and knowing nothing else. But she was so sweet with people and my friend just saw something in her. And so she asked if I would be willing to try and help this sad dog. Three years later Rosie is a favorite member of my pack she has worked through all her issues and is a happy well adjusted dog.

Hoot- 3 year old male Lab/Blood Hound. Hoot is one of the rare ones we actually didn't get from the rescue. My husband actually found him and his 4 brothers and sisters in a cat carrier as puppies dumped on the side of the road. We were able to find good homes for all his siblings except for vocal little Hoot. And so he just became a part of the family I couldn't ever imagine parting with.

Stone- 9 year old male Lab/Rottweiler. We got Stone from the shelter when he was a puppy. He had been shot in the face by his previous owner and was left to die when a kind soul rescued him. Stone was terrified of people and wasent used to human touch. He was also left disfigured on the side of the face he was shot on. In other words Stone wasent the cutest puppy in the world. And so he was passed up time and time again. He was a tough case my favorite kind and eventually stone came home to live with us. Today Stone is our #1 cub sitter and sweetest dog in the pack. He doesent have a mean bone in his HUGE body and loves to think he is a lap dog.

Whopper and Wookie- the twins lol they are both 1 year old Saint bernard/ Bernese Mountain Dog mixes male and female. Whopper and Wookie are products of the designer dog fad . Their original owners couldn't own them anymore because they were moving and the dogs were too large . They bought them from a breeder who sold them the pair as a "breeding pair" though they are brother and sister. And when Whopper and Wookie were turned over to the rescue Wookie was already accidently pregnant. She gave birth to 5 puppies three of which didn't survive. The puppies were then rehomed quickly. But because Whopper and Wookie had severe seperation anxiety when it came to each other the rescue required they be adopted out together. But it is rare you find a person coming to a rescue looking for two large breed long haired dogs to bring home. Unless of course your me and a push over lol. Whopper and Wookie have been with us for a month now and are wonderful additions to our family.

Poodle- 6 year old female Dalmatian. Lol yeah she is named after the Dalmatian from the movie The Truman Show. Poodle like Hoot did not come from a shelter or rescue. Poodle belonged to a good friend of ours who three years ago died from cancer. When he had found out he wasent going to make it he asked me personally to please take care of Poodle for him. You see Poodle is a special case she is completely deaf and on top of that has only three legs. And because of her special needs he didn't want her to go to just anyone. Poodle is a very special member of our family because of this.

Airhead- 4 year old male Beagle/Dachshund. Airhead was actually supposed to just be a foster. When he was a year old he was turned into the shelter because he was "untrainable" and way too hyper. He was definately not meant for life in a cage at the shelter and drove himself crazy spinning in circles. He also barked constantly and just was not happy. And so we offered to foster him until the shelter found him the perfect home. But of course we fell in love with him and he loved us as well. He has acres and acres to run on and plenty of playmates. He also was no problem for us to housebreak or train. He is extremely smart but he is a mix of two high energy breeds and he just needed someone who could handle him.

Naomi- 11 year old female American Pitbull Terrier. Naomi is anouther three legged wonder who no one seemed to want. She was three years old and actually didn't come from a bad family. But a family who had fallen on hard times and knew they couldn't afford to keep Naomi anymore. They did worry however that because she was a pitbull she wouldn't be placed. But leave it to me to walk in a few days later and fall in love with her. Naomi is our sweetest girl and my heart dog she is also a lovely cub sitter.

Lol okay well thats it and yes like I said we have a zoo. Im sorry no pics yet but I promise as soon as I can post them I will! I hope to learn more about you all and your dogs as well.
