I am looking for a leave-in conditioner that can be used daily. Jake is in our pool every day and the chlorine is drying his skin. i want something that is a cream, since he is so big a spray would be too hard, unless its in big spray bottle

I don't know if it is good for dogs..but the Mane & Tail leave-in conditioner is good for ppl and horses...It could probably be used for dogs? That is the only one I know of.

Bio Groom makes a very good leave in conditioner for dogs. But at the salon, we use Absorbine Show Sheen. It's made for horses, but works really well on dogs. Another horse product a lot of groomers use is Cowboy Magic.

I've also made a good leave in by placing one tablespoon of Bio Groom silk and two tablespoons of distilled vinegar in a 16 oz spray bottle and adding water to fill. Shake it up and spray lightly.

And that's the trick with any leave in conditioner; use it sparingly or they tend to weight the coat down and leave it greasy looking.

I also use the Cowboy Magic...and using sparingly is definately a must.

thanks, so if I were to use the cowboy magic, how much would you use on a 100# lab, a quarter size or more than that?

I found this great stuff the other day. Its called Dr.Jeff Werber's Skin & Coat Emollient. Its great cause not only does it make the coat shiny,it helps keep the skin healthy, reduces shedding, and removes dander. Its also all natural.

It is a spray but a little goes a looong way, I used a new bottle on all four of my big dogs and it doesnt even look like I used any from looking at the bottle.

Their coats are sooo shiny and soft, and they smell good. Its been two days since I used it and they are still shiny and soft. Sydney has dry skin and so far its making her skin a lot better.
