help me on my parakeet

    i just bought my parakeets a nest box but it is a lovebird nest box can u tell me if i can use it or not they get near it then sit on top of it r stand on it but they dont seem intrested in goin in the box

    A lovebird nestbox is larger than that of a parakeet.
    They should eventually use it but i would go for a proper nest for them.

    I find they usually start showing an interest within a couple of days with the male checking it out first and making any adjustments before allowing the female to enter.

    If you keep this nest line it with about 2-3inches of plain woodshavings which they usually throw out but just keep putting it back in and see how they get on.

    my birds usually start laying eggs 1-14days after i put the nest box in the cage.
