Hi to you all, need some advice regarding my kitten, Ozzy is 13 weeks old he has always been quite a hyper cat if he is not sleeping he will be running around the house at full speed like a nutter! you cant stroke him without him biting you and he has a thing about feet, i don't dare walk about the house without my slippers on if i do guarantee he will be there biting them, anyway i thought maybe he needs a playmate so i looked around for another kitten keeping in mind that i should get another one similar to ozzy (a bit hyper) i found a lovely black 9 week old kitten a bit mad like ozzy so i decided that i would have him, well he has been here for around 5 days now and ozzy wont leave him alone, they do sleep together but whenever they are awake my ozzy just wants to fight him. It don't look like play fighting as the new kitten seems scared whenever he is around and if ozzy does get hold of him the kitten lets out a cry so i have to separate them,do i just leave them to it or just keep them apart as best i can.

The only advice I can give is that you try lots of toys...keep him playing and tire him out. I'm not sure if this will help but maybe he's bored. Also, make sure you discourage the biting of the feet right away, don't let him think it's ok. Carry around a water bottle and spray him in the face when he attacks your feet.

    And no catnip!!!!!!!

another good trick is to put a collar with a bell on the aggressor in order to warn the aggressee that trouble is coming

Most kittens love to attack feet; it's fun. Pooky (RIP) used to do it. Rene did it when she was under 1. Milo and Vene came to us at 9 weeks old as a pair of siblings. They loved to nap together and when they woke up, Milo would use her as a punching bag and Vene (RIP) came to resent him as she grew older. He loved her very much. It's just that he was the alpha cat and wanted to show her who's the boss. We'd break them up when the attack starts and give them individual attention by giving them toys to play with. When Rene attacked our feet, we knew it's time to take out her favorite mouse toys or play string with her. The attack of the feet eventually stopped altogether.
