PLEASE HELP!!!! I took in a puppy from a co-worker after the puppy plucked her last nerve. She was not experienced with dogs and was at her wits end with him. He is supposed to be a full Aussie, but he's not. He's either a Aussie mix ( with my guess would be some type retriever), or a Catahoola(sp?) cattledog and he's about 7 1/2 months old. Sweet, adorable and possessed by the devil, I'm sure!!!! I'm not inexperienced and have raised many good dogs, and thought he'd mellow out by living the country life, another older dog to play with ( who is a great dog) and 30 acers to run and play on. At first he seemed to do better, he does listen well when he's on a lead and you can correct him if he needs it and does pretty well in his crate. But when he is loose, what a terror!!! He constantly harrasses the older dog until the older dog looses it and whips up on him just to have the pup back at it again minutes later. He( the pup) destroys everything he can find, up-ending flower pots, digging up plants, shredding mail and newspapers, chewed up my doormats and is ripping the carpet off the deck floor, tries to chase my horses and will lunge up and grab their tails and swing on them, and I'm afraid one of them will kill him. When in the house he constantly demands attention and licks/ or tries to constantly. Now he's started chasing my car and barking when I'm leaving to go to work. I know that what I'm describing is just puppyness, but believe me when I tell you he's gone far and beyond normal puppy destruction and havoc. And he's not dumb by a long shot, he's very smart but he looses focus extremely quickly. I can be playing games with him, thowing objects, etc., and all of a sudden this look comes over him and he's gone to reek more destruction, its like I'm not even there. Recently he knocked down a child and bit her hard enough to draw blood while she was walking him around on the lease, and several people saw it happen and she had done nothing to provoke it. He wasn't being vicious, more like just extremely rough playing but it still concerns me. He has not been nutered yet. Please give me your suggestions because I've just about had it with him and I cannot/will not tolerate his aggressive behaviors toward my horses, older dog and kids.
Sorry for such a long post, but I'm beyond frustrated!!!![/b]

obedience training...I too have had some really good dogs from puppyhood throughout their lives but this dog I have now is a piece of work. We had to go to classes to learn how to work with her. We weren't crazy about spending the money but I gotta say it helped us.
She goes into a down when asked whereas before she wouldn't, her recall is excellent although we won't let her off leash cause she's somewhat aggressive.
We had to learn to help her and for us the only way was to get professional help.

Please seek out a behaviorist and trainer, I can reccommend a very good trainer who would be more than willing to help and is resonable.

feel free to private message me or email.

Help!!! Puppy is driving me crazy!!!!

I'm open to these ideas. I live in Central Virginia and I'm afraid that Texas and NH would be a little out of reach:)
Know of anyone closer to my area?
