Help with health concern

About every 2 weeks or so Chloe seems to get constipated and then she will have the runs (usually on the carpet!). When she has the diarrea it is sort of powdery. She has no other symptoms, other than that. She eats fine and is just as playful as ever. Should I take her in for a vet visit, or is there something I can try at home first.?

I would take her to the vet to rule out any health concerns. Cats are extremely good at hiding their illness.

Worst case scenario, the cat is badly sick. I prefer to think of the better case. Your cat is probably getting into some type of food left out that is not agreeing with him/her. Is the cat an outdoor or indoor variety. Outdoor is asking for trouble, while indoor is easy to track down. My cats don't beg for human food or meat or anything, they don't even know what that is. Their stool is controlable and predictable unless they have been eating something strange.
