Hello hope all is well with you guys i have not been here for awhile and i need an answer so i thought i would ask the experts so here i am. My kittys Fonzi and Butters are a few months away from being 1 and i have not gotten them fixed yet i'm about to tho. So the problem is Fonzi is SPRAYING OMG that smell is so bad he sprayed my poor little Jasmine (my yorkie) poor thing was rubbing her head on anything and everything it's was kinda funny. Will he stop this when i get him fixed? and how the heck do you get the smell out my daughters room smells so bad she moved out last year and i'm not sure how he got in there but geez. I sprayed Fabreez on my couch and that seemed to work but it's the whole bedroom. Also i have to give him a bath he smells like it also. I have had cats all my life and have 4 now he is the only one doing this. Oh yea he walks around howling also will this stop once he is fixed? i was looking to get them fixed next week but next friday i'm going out of town so i have to wait till i can stay with them.

The spraying 'should' stop after he's been neutered. He's marking his territory everywhere...."I guess even little Jasmine belongs to him now".
Have you tried Natures Miracle to get rid of the smell? The biggest problem your going to have is if its on wallpapered walls and in the carpet, with the walls you might have to strip them and re-paper, you might want to paint then before putting paper up, the carpets, if you can pinpoint the exact spots the Natures Miracle should work, I use a 35cc or 60cc syringe and inject the Natures Miracle into the underlay (should be able to get the syringes at a feed store), if theres a lot of it you may have to replace the carpet and the underlay, before you put any new carpet down though, clean the floor up, seal it and paint it. Depending on what floor type you have, cement and wood are porous so the urine and the smell will stay there. Its no good just putting new carpet down as the smell will eventually come through.
Good luck....Ive been through this before in a couple of places Id rented years ago.

I agree with the above post about the spraying.
I love Nature's Miracle...I've used it to clean out my litter boxes and it works great on removing stains as well. Definately worth giving a try.

purrfect reason why it's best to neuter before the testoserone hits the systems.

Something you'll want to keep in mind too, is now that you have official tom cats...is once you have them neutered they will continue to have an odor for awhile. This odor does go away w/in a couple of weeks after the neutering. It's the hormones settling down.

Nature's Miracle will eliminate the odor whereas Febreeze just covers it up.

thanks guys i will buy some of that also i finally FOUND THE SMELL besides jasmines head lol so my house smells much better now ya know i guess i have gotten lucky before i didnt' "fix" whiskers till he was about 3-4 years old i used him as a stud for a little couple of times then i didnt know what i know now and he never never sprayed or howled oscar either and he was about 2 when i got him fixed. I have been thinking about doing the kittys since I got them but when they turned 6 mos i had to much going on my poor babies fonzi is going to stink forever now  i'm hopeing to get it done with in the next couple of weeks and hopefully this will stop. Wonder why Fonzi is doing it and not butters, butters is very cuddley and loving fonzi is a creep lol he only wants you to touch him when he wants lol. All in all they have turned out to be very beauitful cats i will have to show you sometime soon.

lmao at jazzy belongs to him sebastain would be very upset lol but ya know now that i think about it she was trying to hump him lol and i was REALLY THINKING OH NO YORKIES KITTYS FOR REAL lol

oops forgot to mention i have never seen them leave the yard whiskers and oscar do but butters and fonzi are always lounging on the fence or on the grass (mostly fence cuz jasmine can't climb it lol  )
