hi everyone its been awhile ive been working non stop.... anyways as most of u know simba has had a never ending battle w/ his ear.. when a few vets that i took him to didnt really know what it was and just gave antibiotics. well we have still been dealing w/ his ear, getting worse, its stinks horribly and puss comming outta it non stop etc.. and he scratches at it till it bleeds... well since i have been working at a vets office again i took him in today... the vet there that i work 4 saved my cat jasons live many of times over his long life sooo i know what she is doing.... well today she had to call in sick but i still brought in my baby.. we took a sample from his ear (which no other vets office ever did i might add) and he had some major bacteria going on in there and a few white blood cells... we flushed out his ear (which non of the other vets ever did)and it looks sooo much better now... anways we found 2 white lumps inside of his ear canal... which could ither be cysts or tumors but are looking a lil more like cysts this vet said.... and she gave me some tresaderm to put in it for a week and if it dont clear it up by them to bring him back in to have surgery done to remove it... soo either way hes on the road to recovery... he was such a good baby today... and everyone who knows simba knows he can have a bad attitude sometimes but he was great... he only tried to bite me one time when he was getting his ear flushed but thats it.... the rest of the day he was loving all over me and the girls.... and now that hes home he is sleeping like i havnet seen him sleep in 4ever.. he feels so much better, no running around the house shaking his head non stop, no more scratching just sleeping like a baby... :D ... im soo happy,, and soo very thankful, the only thing they are charging me 4 is the meds even if he has to have sugery....im sooo happy by baby boy is happy again and not miserable....

My cat peaches had the same problem...

First off I wanted you to know that sticking by simba the way you do is very special. I believe that it takes a special person to love an animal the way you do! Good for you :D .
Also I had a cat named Peaches, she was a beautiful persian she was 8 years old, and she started to dig at her ear and when I took her to the vets he put her down, said there was nothing he could do. I wish that I had taken her to a different vet but I had never heard of this happening before to another cat. I miss her so much and sometimes when I think about it I cry. I still take my other animals to this vet and after reading your story I think maybe I should!
You may not know this but simba's story (your story of persistance and love) is saving lives and giving hope... THANK YOU!!

I'm so glad that Simba seems to be doing better. Keep up the great work!

Isn't it funny how they'll try and tolerate treatments as though they just know that you're trying to help them? Even though they'll let you know when they've had enough, they're still loving.

It's nice to know others care!

I always wanted to be a vet also. My mom would get so mad at me cause I would bring home everything :D . This one time I wanted to catch this baby skunk. I love animals so much! My animals are like children to me, and since I have none it's all about them.. They are so spoiled, and they know it! It's a nice thing, what you do :y_the_best: . Simba's very lucky!

    I love reptiles, thanks dad!

See I am really weird, I love almost anything.. I have an enormous love for lizards, I know it's really weird! I used to give my mother a heart attack  , because even at five I would pick up snakes. I have my father to thank for that! He wanted a little boy and I was a girl so he trained me to be a little tomboy.. Almost a year ago I got a six month old iguana This old cat that I found covered in oil one night coming home from work (and to top it off this old cat was stuck in the rain and somebody in a truck purposefully tried to run her over!) So of course I jumped out of the car and rescued her. She was so skinny and whoever had owned her had her declawed. Anyways I named her Grandma. Back to the iguana. She ate him. I didn't think that she would live that long but she had eaten him... That was a year after I rescued her. Grandma has passed on. But I never would've thought that a cat would ever eat any kind of reptile.. Watch out for that little boy he might end up bringing home some snakes lol ! Catch ya later :) .

    Hey how are you?

I am from N.Y. so I never ran across a poison snake. But believe me I don't think that would have mattered. I guess that we have alot in common. A site that I went to before joing this one the people were mean. Acting as if I had no right to own any animals because I didn't go right out and do everything for them at once, ya know? And I have been getting it now like I am stupid and should automatically take my pets to the vet. Most of the animals I have are pets that people didn't want. I have been revolving my life around animals since I was old enough to walk. Some things are not well known and are not indangering to the animal like pooping on the floor after being a year old and everythins fine, the animal is healthy as a horse, so tell me why I should take my pet to the vet when the problem is due to moving the litter box? Why is it that a "rich" person should be aloud to throw out their pets like it's thier old socks, but when somebody with half that money brings them in and can't just take them to the vet it's called neglegence? I am only 22 and I do what I can for them. I am against calling the S.P.C.A because other than criminals who and what deserves to be locked in a cage? The only time I have ever called them is when I know that I can't help... Ya know? By the way how is Simba? Great knews I hope :D . Well I catch you later..

i have always wanted to go to new york... especially after what happened 9/11 i have wanted to go out there and help any way i can but couldnt do it...but i would still love to visit ground zero and pay my respects... as far as having things in common yes we do dont we????lol but then again u have something in common w/ everyone else here as well. ur love 4 cats and animals...lol.. u know its soo funny that u said that about the other board i went to one once as well talking about how i sprayed my cat w/ a water bottle when he messed w/ the guinea pig and i caught u know what from those ppl they were sooo rude....i know what u mean about doing what u can i am the same way i have put so much money into my cats over the years and i try to always have each one at least $40 incase something happens to use at least as a deposit.. which now its getting harder to even see a vet unless u have the money upfront!!!and simba ive spent soo much money on him to all these vets and they never even figured out the problem...and the one vet that does figure it out i only get chagred 4 the meds....and i am a 21 year old single mother still living w/ my parentsso therefor i am broke but still do whatever ican to help a animal in need out...maybe thats why i am broke...lolbut everyone here at auspet is very understanding,, the only time anyone here will get nasty is when we get posts that ohh my gosh my cat is laying here dying in front of me what do i do type thing? now that is just down right stupid why even be a pet owner if u dont have common sense.. would u let ur kid just lay there and die? no anyone that gave a crap would be rushing them into the hospital...and i to hate it when someone is soo quick to go put a cat or dog down b/c they are being bad like peeing on the carpet or scratching the furniture and instead f ruling out why they are doing it would rather just havethem put down.. we have a office cat at the vet that i work at where a man came in w/ this cat who was about 15 was going potty on their brand new white carpet they just put in the house and his wife was fed up and wanted the cat put down needless to say the doc said heck no and had th guy sign over ownership and hes now a happy fat very healthy cat about 17 years old who runs the office...lol

I am sorry that this reply to so long.

Yeah, I have always wanted to be a vet but I also wanted to open up an animal shelter. I want to build a big one with lots of space outside for the animals to be able to walk around and not feel caged. You share the same things with me. I guess thats a little weird. There's not alot of people out there who like animals. Well at least where I come from. Where are you from? I am now living in P.A but I grew up in a small town in N.Y. I have always wanted to go to Africa and travil. I want to be like the people who get to adopt animals that are young whose parents were killed by hunters. Someday I want toadopt and care for Siberian Tigers. They are so beutiful! I just want to see in person what I read or see on T.V. Ya know?

i totally know where u are comming from...i am from fort myers florida born and raised here... but might be moving up to kentucky not to sure yet its just a thought... i love florida and i love the beaches, it has to be my fav. place its soo peacfull there and i have always been interested in marine life, so if i move i am truly gonna miss the beaches and they will be hard to live without.. but i wanna be in the country and have deers in my back yard etc.. the only time u really see them here is if they are road kill.. or have to go to the everglades which is another place i will mis since we own a camp down there. the everglades is just awsome, some crazy things there u never know what u are gonna see.. like the snake that ate the gator.... crazy crazy!!! but i love it...but now i cant let my cats outside or they become road kill soo i wold love to own some land up there so that way they can enjoy the outdoors only in teh daytime though or else i cant sleep at night if they arent inside!!!!and did i mention cheap! compared to florida ohh man its sooo cheap up there... now a days here u gotta be rich to make it. or well thats how its getting...

I have always wanted to go to Florida. I have never been to a Beach, I bet it's beautiful! I am totally facinated with marine life, always wanted to scooba dive. I saw the Anaconda and gator, that was tatally wicked! I didn't know that snakes would dare eat a gator. I am from the country and it has it's benifits, like allowing your pets to go outside but people here will purposfully run animals over. Last year there was a dead possum in the middle of the road, so I stopped the car and got out to move it to the side of the road when I noticed that there was a rock laying over it's head. Not only was the poor thing run over but someone beat it to nothing, that image has yet to leave my head. That wasn't all that I saw but I believe the details are to grusome to talk about... Cats, racoons, possums, and small dogs are always at risk here. About a week ago there was this racoon laying off the side of the road and it was hit really badly. I am lucky to be living on a dead end strret, the only people who come down the street are the people who live here. When I was living in N.Y all my cats were kept inside N.Y is really bad about road kill. I lived and grew up in a small town, Wellsville N.Y. The place was filled with crazy people, I mean people sticking fire crackers in cats and in microwaves. But this crap probably happens everywhere. Does this happen in Florida? I don't know life is crazy. I just wish that people that run animals over would face the same penilties as if the ran another human over. That goes for the psycho killings too, ya know?

well dont plan on comming to florida now!!!!lol wilmas on her way!!! oh yea and dont ever come in hurricaine season and if ya do come prepared!! and being very light clothing cause its HOT!!!!!!!lol the beaches are great. my fav place.... i will pm u so check it there

as far as the gator and the snake...lol some CRAZY things go on down in the swamp (everglades) but i like it there. its peaceful...but expect gators and snakes everywhere u look... but also dear everywhere, and did i mention bears that like to break into ur camp and rob ur food!!!!!!!lol weve had it happen a few times...

thats stuff happenes here to... believe me my moms cat spunky was intentionally ran over. and once they hit her 1 time they ran her over a second and then a third time as well....i wish the ppl would have tp pay the price 4 doing these things and sometimes they do, its not as long as it should be or a strict as it should be but....
