how can i encourage my ramshorn snails to breed

    They are about and inch and a half tall fuul grown and i want them to breed.. how can i encourage this?

    i dont think there is really a way to encourage, but as with most snails, they will, eventually breed and have alot of offspring.

    like grnlemonade said i don't think you need to encourage them most snail breed like no tomorrow but i belive in some cases you need a male and female

    snails are hemaphrodites (with sex organs of both genders.)

    I think they are to... most time when you get a hitch hikeing snail ( like on your plants) you will end up with alot more than one. lol -tl

    Applesnails (there is a ramshorn apple snail which it sounds like these might be) need a male & female to breed.

    It's the common pond snails and little ramshorn snails(and probably some others) that are hermaphrodites and will breed like crazy.

    wow! thanks for all the info .....I just moved my ramshorns and my betta to a 10 gallon tank and this morning they were stuck together...i sure hope they were making babies LOL :eek:
