    hi,
how do i know if my cat is healthy..and not overweight?
by her weight? or by feeling the fat on her body?

Can you easy feel (but not see) her ribs and backbone? If so she is probably not overweight.

This chart might help you decifer:

a general way to tell if your cat is overweight or not is to feel for the ribs.

if u can feel them easily through the fur, (would feel like your knuckles) then everything is fine. the harder it is to feel them, the more overweight your fuzz is ;)

Copper has one of those wobbly guts too! He is a big boy, but besides the gut, he doesn't look overweight to me! If I could figure out the picture thing I'd show you. I know I've been given directions, but still...

I always wondered that myself, my kitty is big but he has a lot of fur, he weighs about 14 pounds but you can feel his spine and ribs he is just a big boy, not fat or obese. :m27:

I knew Moses was overweight when I called him to come in one day and he started running toward me...happy to see mom...his bellie swinging left to right as he was running. Then he started slowing down little by little, til he slowed to just walking toward me and the front door. It crossed my mind when I was watching him that he might have a little kitty stroke. But, he made it fine and that was about 5 years ago and he's still active...though, he does have to rock his behind a few times before he springs for the chair or the couch...he is quite a character! lol
