How do you potty train an older dog?

Hi! I've had my dog for 3 years now and she since we have moved into our new house- she will not use the bathroom out in the yard. We let her out tons and she'll hold it to go in the house when we go to work or leave for some reason. Also- she won't go poo in our yard! She wants to jump the fence and go in the neighbors yard. And we've tried everything and we cannot keep in the fence. She gets out everytime. Is there a way to retrain her to use the bathroom outside and stay in the yard? We just do know what to do. Please help! :)

For the potty training, re-train her just like she was a puppy. Go out with her on leash and stand there with her until she goes. Put a command to it. Reward her very highly for going outside. When you can't watch her, she needs to be confined somewhere she won't be able to go - using a crate is easiest. Has she ever been crate trained?

Sometimes all it takes is getting her to go a few times in the new place and then she's fine. You also want to make sure you have cleaned your carpet with an enzyme-based cleaner or she will keep going on it. You can use a black light to find spots where she has peed.

She is probably stressed from the move. Make sure you are giving her lots of attention.
