I was in the pet store today buying some new toys for Marley... oo i was lookin in there forever so fun LOL... anyways I havent really looked at many budgies but I was looking at the ones in the petstore and they seemed SO big!! How long does it take for budgies to get full size? Mine is quite a bit smaller than the other ones I have seen and my friends have also made comments on how small she is.. I notice that her cere is pink but in the right light it looks purpley blue... I have heard that when they are young it is this color and then changes... Do you think I just have a baby?

It depends on the colour of the bird to the colour of the cere and the age.
A bird under 6months old will still have barring on the head an older bird will not.

Birds stop growing around 18-24months of age some earlier.
The younger the bird the pinker the cere will be as all young birds until there first molt resemble the female..

There is quite a few small budgies out there most are due to breeding poor bloodlines so do not worry to much if she never gets any bigger..

She could just be a baby. Budgies come in a few sizes, for instance Buster is a fancy budgie and he is considerably smaller than Kiwi. There are also English budgies that get pretty big too.

I believe that budgie's cere's do change color as they mature so she sould be maturing and she could actually be a he.

See the confusing part of it all is that she is an all shite budgie well accually she has a small round patch on her back that is blue.
But she is not an albino because her eyes are solid black... so I guess the fact that her eyes are all black except for her white eyelashes.. that she is still a baby?

I've been told that budgies with a completely black eye are 3-4 months or younger. As they get older their iris' become light grey to white.
