Hey everyone.. 2 out of my 4 birds are clipped.. I was just wondering.. do their flight feathers grow back like hair.. so will they be able to fly better and better as time goes by... or do the feathers stay the same until their next molt and then start growing.. and if so how long is it usually between molts>
Thanks a lot.. looking forward to my other guys getting their wings hehe...

And also.. have any of you guys found out what happens after you allow a former clipped bird to get its wings back.. to they continue to do more climbing then flying or do they enjoy the new sense of freedom>>

Hi when a bird has clipped wings there feathers do not come back until there next molt.
Birds molt all there lives some constantly molt others molt every other month.

A molt can last anywhere from 1month to several months the time of year they molt also depends on the time of year they hatched.

My birds molt about every 6-8months and lasts on average 6weeks and thats for a full molt.

They can fly just like they could before the wings were clipped and will enjoy being able to fly again, If the birds are hand tame they will stay the same aslong as you keep handling them as you would do normally.
