I suggest calling the vet and asking them. But I have read that giving the dog a little bit of butter helps with constipation.
Also, pure canned pumkin (not the pie filling!) is really good for both loose stools and constipation. It has a lot of fiber in it. You can give her a small amount of that.

    How long since shes pooped?
Has she recently had diarrhea? Been dewormed?

Sometimes after a pet has had diarrhea or been dewormed they still get the urge to go even when theres nothing there, sometimes this is mistaken for constipation....´not saying this is the case with your dog but its a very common mistake to make.

I think a trip to the vet just to make sure evrything is okay.

I gave her pumpkin like you suggested and it doesn't seem to be helping. I've given her olive oil like a site I was at said to and that doesn't seem to be working but you know Delauk I did deworm her on Wednesday, would that still affect her today even though it has been a good 3 days? She hasn't had diarrhea at all so I don't think thats the case but I think the deworming might be the problem lol If I remember right she pooped this morning when my brother took her for a walk but last time I saw her poop myself was yesterday. Thanks though I kind of feel stupid if its the dewormer thing cuz when I see her try to poop I feel soo bad for her and tell her "you poor baby" lol But thanks for the replies, how long will it take this to go away if its from the dewormer? I will watch for poops tomorrow Thanks again

Dont feel bad if it is the dewormer, or anything else, we all have to learn this at some time or another (I remember back in the 70's or 80's in UK when parvo first surfaced....a lot of people-me included-thought it was caused by a worm....it was commonly referred to as "The Parvo Worm" )

Dewormers kill the parasites and stimulate the dog to go poop to eliminate the parasites from its gut and intestines. Once a dog (or any mammal) has either had stimuli or a bout of diarrhea the body will continue to get the urge to poop for a little while afterwards, no different than say, if youve been vomiting for a day or so....it can take a few days to stop feeling like you still want to vomit...(sorry, too much info probably but that was the best example I could think of :? ) it settle within a couple of days and go back to normal. Just watch your pup carefully, if she does still seem to be having a problem though you might want to talk to your vet...

I am guessing it was the dewormer, she pooped earlier today so I'm not so worried anymore. Thanks

my dog had a bout of "dire-rear" this past week.....and even though I fasted her for a day she kept on squatting as if to poop. Took her an entire afternoon to stop feeling like she had to go
