I started fostering a male Boxer for a friend a few weeks ago. I will have him for around 2 months until he is able to move.

Anyway Lou has never shown any kinds of aggression so I told him I would. I just thought I'd have to keep a close eye on them. Well my Lou is the only boy & is spoiled. His Boxer is the only boy & is spoiled. Yea the happy puppy jumping around lasted about 2 hrs. until they both wanted attention from me at the same time. That started a massive rumble. I crated both of them up for awhile as a cooling off period & let them out.

Guess what, they saw eachother & went at it again. Now I keep them seperate at all times. I couldnt imagine actually owning more than one same sex pit at a time. Especially if they dont like eachother. Its a chore let me tell ya. lol

Yup, thats the way it goes..lol Although I hear of some living in harmorny. I've have a multi dog home and it isn't easy, its a lot of work besides the aggression. A few weeks ago I had two females get into it, not everytime I go to give the one water she tries to get the other because she remembers that last time when she got the other female I was giving her water...lol So she thinks she can do it again...hehe smart butt. Or when they both want attention, my male is the worse about that and always has been, he gets so jealous. He can be very good with a pup or female dog, but if he thinks they are going to come between me and him look out.

I have 5 APBTs (soon to have 2 more pups), and consider myself extremely lucky right now because only my 2 adult females don't get along. I expect to have to deal with more aggression issues any day though. The pups I currently have are almost 8 months (female) and 8.5 months (male). My 5th dog is an adult male. Anyway - dog aggression is one of the drawbacks (in my opinion, at least) to the APBT.

I always knew his dog agression would eventually come out. It was just my wishful thinking that it would come out when he was older. The thing is, he is wonderful with any dog smaller than him. My wife recently rescued 2 older (10 & 13) breeding pair of Pekingese's (sp?) that he loves. The male is blind & sometimes snaps at Lou. He simply walks the other way.

I now have 6 German shepherds 3male 3 female and all get along great the pup who is 6months old thinks he can try his luck but he has been snapped at a few times now he knows not to act up.

When my girls are in heat there is no fighting from the males so i guess i am lucky enough to have dogs like this.

They all have there time when they sit with me and we play catch or tug-o-war with there rope and none of them try to muscle in.

In a multi dog household you have to be on the ball at all times and you soon learn each dogs actions and what they are going to do.

I dont cage my dogs they have free run of the house when i am not home or in bed.
When i am home the door to the yard is left open all day even when its raining or windy this way they can goto the yard when they want and come back in when they want.

I usually take all 6dogs for a walk at the same time but it is hard trying to walk 6 large dogs hehehehe so now its 3 at a time.

Guess you are kind of lucky to own GSDs and not APBTs...lol

Lunchbox Lou is about 9 months didn't you say? That is a little young most wont start up until they are 12months-18months in most cases. But he is starting to get a little older, the male I have now started at about 6 months. Pretty young. Most wellbred Pit Bulls on the average are pretty good with opposite sex and small dogs, hehe, its funny to see them just walk about from a small dog thats snapping at them, gotta love it. They're pretty smart.
