I'VE BEEN DOIN A LOT OF RESEARCH ON FIREMOUTHS BECAUSE I WANT TO GET SOME TO PUT IN MY NEW 45GAL TANK. FROM WHAT I'VE READ I DON'T KNOW IF THIS WOULD WORK OUT HOWEVER. I'VE READ THAT YOU SHOULD KEEP THEM IN ODD NUMBERS, BUT 3 IS TOO SMALL ( 2 WILL PICK ON 1), BUT MY TANK IS TOO SMALL TO KEEP 5 FIREMOUTHS... OR IS IT? ALSO WOULD I BE ABLE TO KEEP 1 FIREMOUTH BY ITS SELF WITH MY SAILFIN PLECO OR WOULD HE GET LONELY? I ALSO DON'T WANT ANY MAJOR BATTELING BETWEEN THE FISH BECAUSE I HATE HAVING TO RETURN FISH BECAUSE OF COMPATIBILITY ISSUES!!!IF YOU BELIEVE THAT FIRMOUTHS WOULDN'T BE A GOOD CHOICE FOR ME AND MY SET UP, WHAT OTHER FAIRLY LARGE CILCLID(s) WOULD YOU RECCOMEND?

Try some research on green terrors. They're beautiful and active and I think that they prefer to be housed alone (not sure about this). Your pleco should do ok, especially if you get the terror small and let him grow to his adult size.
