well, this time they found me. Just venting!! I came home Friday night to 2 dogs lying in my driveway, a medium shephard mix and a large akita chow mix, I was nervouse because I thought they may be wild. My husband was home, had gotten home about half hour earlier and said they were there when he got home, were friendly but skittish. Now I live in a rural area down a long driveway, so where did they come from?? we were able to get leashes on them by enticing them with food, luckily no food aggression, and got them in our garage, which isnt dog proof. they looked like they had previously worn collars, like mine who wear them all of the time, when you take them off, there is a defiinate collar mark, so I think they may have been dumped. I drove around trying to find signs or anything, nothing, so the next morning I took them to the HS, luckily they took them because I am in county and the HS doesnt take county animals only city, but since it was a week-end and the other place wasnt open. poor thngs, the shepard mix is older and looked like she had arthritis. luckily they only chewed a few things in the garage.
I hope I am wrong and they will be claimed. Why cant I find peoples dogs who truly lose them and care for them, and are looking for them, it just makes me feel so bad when I have to do this.

I know exactly how you feel, I was maxed out with 4 dogs and 3 cats...in a 2 bd duplex, I had a pretty good circle of 'foster friends' that took in a lot of dogs that I either found or mostly were brought into the emergency clinic I worked at that were slightly injured and we'd been told to euthanize....the only way I can deal with all the neglect and abuse out there is to think about all the people I know that dont get upset when they get a 2am phone call requesting temporary board and lodgings and a donation for medical costs.
