anyone have any room?..heheh...I found this adorable pit mix puppy scrounging by the dumpsters outside my apartment today. He's just a pup, I'd guess around 14-16 weeks old. He's pretty skinny...I can see all of his ribs, and you can see the points of his hips and and see the vertebrae in his tail...;( But, in true pit form...he's absolutely overjoyed about everything. I crouched down and called him, assuming he was going to run since he looked scared...but he bounded over into my lap..He's almost all white except a little black ticking, and one big brindle patch over his eye...he is so so cute! Well, of course he's puppy cute, but he's got quite a personality too...and he's very smart. I think he was dumped...or escaped...he smelled like cigarette smoke when I picked him up..so he was either in a house, which I would believe, he's fairly clean...it's bee raining here non stop for weeks, and he's still white...so I doubt he was outside. I tried talking my fiance into keeping him, but he said no...and really i can't have anymore animals...the landlord would kill me...so I guess tomorrow he's off to columbia second chance..I hate to give him up though to sit in a cage...I'm in loooove..

What a day trying to get this dog somewhere! I called the dog rescue in town and they weren't accepting any more pit mixes because they simply had too many. I was out getting Annie's picture taken with Santa, since the proceeds go to the rescue, so I ran by the humane society, which does euthanize...and asked what chance a pit mix would have if I brought it in...and she said...not much..they usually don;t get adopted out...not that they don;t try...but they usually don't get placed before their time is up...so...I was almost in tears about the poor pup...I was calling him Petey..so..she said I could just bring him down to be scanned for a chip and they'd take some pictures and list him for me...so..i agreed to that...and ran home to grab Petey...well I was taking a few pictures before I left the house so I'd have some to put found posters up and stuff..and two little girls knock on my door..So I shoo Annie and Petey back as i crack the door so they don't come flying out at them...and they shyly ask.."Have you seen a little black and white pit bull mix?" and they have a walmart sack full of lost posters...So, I say "YES!!!! He's right here"...and let the door swing open and out bounds Petey and in unison they say "CHEMO!!" so..it was a happy reunion...Turns out they live in the group of apartments across the road. Since they were just little kids...I didn't want to say...why is this poor dog so skinny?!! ..so..I'm hoping they just adopted him and he's in the process of fattening up...he certainly isn't house trained...Now that I know where he lives I'm going to keep an eye on him though..because if he continues to be that skinny I'll have to do something..

Well I am glad you found the little guy's home. It does concern me that he is so thin though. If I were you I would definitely check up on him in a week or or so and if he still looks as bad perhaps give some feeding advice to his owners and if they seem put off by it then I would contact animal welfare.
Your a HERO!!
