and is their former owner a piece of work!!!
Neither cat had vaccines in some years as she insisted they had allergic reactions. In order for Rescue to accept them they had to be current on distemper and rabies. They had those Saturday and they haven't had a reaction at all.
I was given 4 pages of instructions on what to do with them. Once I had the signed surrender form in hand I told her that I've fostered over 30 Siamese cats and haven't killed one yet. They'd be fine and their life is going to adjust to how things are done in my house, not how they lived before. They will go to a home that rescue feels is a match for them, not a match for her. Her husband laughed and I felt better.
They are doing pretty well. Scooter (lynxpoint) is off her anxiety meds for overgrooming. Considering that 4 years of these drugs without a break and she still overgrooms says it's probably nervous reaction to their fruit loop former owner. The meds stopped Saturday.
Sawney (bluepoint) is still hiding but at least in the open (behind my open-style computer desk). Scooter doesn't hide at all. She hangs out on my computer chair.
I feel so glad they are away from her. When I picked up the carrier and said "come on girls, time for a lifestyle change" the vet clapped his hands (owner was gone by then. I had to sneak them back in for microchipping as owner felt it was too much in one day - we got it done though).

They are so cute! .....so relaxed, it is hard to believe they EVER needed to be on meds for anxiety!
