My cat is vomitting and not eating food he is drinking water he's vomitt is a yellowish color. I took him to the Vet he said he didn't see anything wrong with him but if he continued to vomitt bring him back in do you have any idea what is wrong with him.

take him back. No cat should go more than 48 hours w/out eating. And if he's vomiting he'd probably just vomit up food. I'd take him back and request a full blood panel. Could be his kidneys, could be anything. But I wouldn't put it off too long.
I hope he does get better soon

:m23: and welcome! How is your kitty today? My Milo would vomit yellow stuff if he has furballs.

    I have a sick cat.

I took him back to the Vets and he kept him and did blood work, ex-rays
I called the vet this evening and he said that he had fluid in his chest so he is giving him antibotics so I hope that will help. I miss him already.

It's a good thing you took your cat back right away. How long will he be hospitalized?

Do you have any houseplants that he may have ingested? There are many common house plants that are poison to kitties. When my baby got into my phylodendrin, she suffered loss of appetite and vomiting.

Yes, but they don't look like he has been chewed on any of them.

    Hi Catldy,

    Welcome, welcome.

It's good that the vet is starting him on antibiotics to help clear that up. When they're sick it's really frightening. :m27: My Mickey's really bad "mystery" illness started with a few sneezes, then it hit him really fast..I could tell he was gasping for breath when I rushed him to the vet....it was a real nightmatre.

On the lighter side, I had an episode with Moses where I noticed that his nose was running for about a week and I couldn't figure out why...(This is a super gross story)...then he had the runny nose and bad sneezing fits. that's when I found out the problem...yuk...he had a piece of grass in his nose.
    :m8:
I guess he ate some grass and a piece found it's way to his nose. So, his nose is about maybe 2 cm, I called my sister to find out what to do..(she worked for a vet)..she said just pull it out....simple enough right?

Well, let's just say that was the most freaky, repulsive thing I've ever had to do in my life and I won't ever do it again. That piece of grass was 3 inches long...ewwww!!!!!!!!

I guess it's funny now...but at the time I thought I was gonna pass out.

    Hope nobody's eating - Sorry!

I have such an enormous respect for vets.

Good Luck with your little one.

All the things we are willing to do for our pets

My mothers cat fox nearly died from getting a peice of grass up her nose... My mother was away for a couple of days (my grandfather was feeding the cat) and when she came home she couldn't find Fox anywhere... Fox is an outdoor cat with a cat-door from the garage, so she can go in and out as she wants to. When the cat finaly showed up, she could bearly walk and she was in much pain. The vet came home to their house, and had to drug her. Then he pulled a long peice of grass out her nose.... It was so long it had gone all the way down her throat, making her unable to eat or drink. And it was also very sharp so it probably cut the inside of the nose/troath :( If she had used just one more day to get home she would have died. Luckily everything went fine.

Yup, I heard about the gross butt thing, dad and step-mom and sis live on a farm...so, they loaded me up with way too many sick pet tales. I guess I'm not as brave as those folks. Still, I think it's true, what won't we go through for our loved ones...especially the furry purry ones.

    :m27: :qm2: :m33: :qm3:

    Have a great day everyone!
